Dandelion Kenya is a grassroots organization founded in 2009 to empower women and youth in the Rift Valley. We have over found our niche in empowering women and girls with information and education particularly sexual and reproductive health and rights information.
Dandelion Kenya’s mission is to empower adolescent girls and young women through education in their endeavors and aspiration for self-reliance. We aim to achieve Self-reliance through creating a sustainable, better, healthier and socially just society. We commit to advocate for gender equality and for adherence to international agreements on Human Rights. Dandelion Kenya is founded on Feminist principles which guides our work and interventions on sexual and reproductive health and rights, defining our programmatic and policy advocacy approach to uphold women and girls bodily autonomy.
Our programs enable women, girls and youth access sexual and reproductive health and rights information and services. We provide the information ourselves though various training modules such as the I Choose, My Life program for young people and link young people to access services through our partner SRHR service providers. We also provide economic empowerment information and business literacy skills through our HELA Program. HELA is a Kiswahili word for cash and we work towards women and girls economic self-reliance.
